How to Choose a Dropzone for Your First Skydive
You may have noticed that there are several websites offering skydives in the Maryland, Virginia, DC, and Delaware area. We encourage you to look around and we hope that you'll see why you should make your jump with us. Here are several things you should consider when making your choice.
Skydive Delmarva uses an 18 passenger Twin Otter aircraft with comfortable bench seating. The size of our plane gives us the ability to let friends jump together. Other dropzones in the area use a Cesena which can only take four passengers including instructors and they all have to squeeze onto the floor of the airplane.
At Skydive Delmarva we make our jumps from between 13,000 and 14,000 feet allowing up to a full minute of free fall. Other dropzones in the area will only fly to 10,000 to 11,0000 feet which doesn't give you as much time to experience the thrill of free falling through the air at 120 MPH.
When you see a price for a skydive on the internet make sure you call and get the bottom line price before you give them your payment information. Some websites offer a low price online but after they get your credit card they add on fees such as gear rental, aircraft charge, weather insurance, etc. At Skydive Delmarva, the prices we list on our website are the entire amount you will pay for your jump. If your jump has to be postponed due to weather we will reschedule it for no charge or refund your deposit if you are unable to reschedule. Our price for a tandem skydive is $215 weekdays/$225 weekends. Our price for an AFF skydive is $315 weekdays/$325 weekends. Our DVD video and photo package is $110. Group discounts are available.
Skydive Delmarva is located in Laurel, DE. It's about a two hour drive from Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD, about a 90 minute drive from Annapolis, MD, and about an hour drive from Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach, Rehoboth Beach and Ocean City. Our location offers an amazing view of the Delmarva peninsula. You'll see rivers carving their way through farm fields, forrests and small towns and on a clear day you'll have breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay. It's well worth the drive. Click here for directions.
